Yes, we allow folx to walk the 5k & 1-mile and strollers are allowed as well. We ask that all participants who will be walking the course start at the back of the field. Additionally, we require participants to move at a 19:00 minute per mile pace (a brisk walk) to ensure that all participants are finished before the roads are reopened at 10:30am.
The 1-Mile is an out and back on London Rd. The route starts on London Road near the Rose Garden, follows London Rd onto Superior Street to the turnaround in front of the Fitger's building.

Duluth Running Co. has partnered with Safe Haven Shelter and Resource Center for the 2023 Gobble Gallop.
Safe Haven offers resources and support to survivors of domestic violence. They serve a seven-county area in northern Minnesota, including St. Louis, Koochiching, Aitkin, Lake, Carlton, Itasca and Cook counties. They provide emergency shelter for over 500 survivors and advocacy for more than 1,500 adults and children annually.
Their Mission: Provide safety, space to heal, advocacy, and empowerment for women, children, and all survivors of domestic violence.
You can donate through your registration and sign up to fundraise for Safe Haven. If you raise $250.00+ Duluth Running Co. will refund your registration fee. Donations from individuals outside of the event are accepted and encouraged. Please pass this along to your friends, family, and neighbors.
Awards Presentation at 10:30am
An awards presentation will take place at 10:30am near or inside the big tent at the Start/Finish Area. Overall and age group awards will be announced. If you do not wish to participate in the awards presentation, please notify event staff of this prior to the awards presentation. Results will be available online within minutes of finishing and you will have access to this information to see if you have placed in the top 3 of your gender category and age group.
Age group awards will be provided to the top 3 finishers in each of the following age groups by gender category for the 5K & 1-Mile: Men, Non-binary, and Women <10, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+
Overall awards will be provided to the top 3 finishers by gender category for the 5K and the 1-Mile for the Men, Non-binary, and Women categories.
We will continue the tradition of presenting pies to award recipients courtesy of Gobble Gallop partner SuperOne Foods.
We will continue the tradition of hot coffee, chocolate, and post-race snacks in the big tent after the race. Stick around for food, music, and the awards presentation.
Superior Street will be closed from 10th Ave E to 5th Ave W. London Rd will be closed from 10th Ave E/Superior St to 14th Ave E. Parking is available in the Rose Garden parking lot (13th Ave E) but fills up quickly.
On street parking is available:
- Superior Street east of 10th Ave E.
- London Road east of 14th Ave.
- Surrounding avenues between 11-15th E
We encourage friends and family to cheer on participants at the Start/Finish and all along the course. Please ensure the safety of participants by staying off the race course and cheering from a safe distance.
Some great spots to spectate are: The Rose Garden at Leif Erickson Park, Fitger's Building, the-turnaround (5th Avenue W) and areas Downtown. London Road and Superior will be closes for the race so please arrive early to find on street parking near your desired cheering location. You may have to walk a few blocks.
